Hi there,
The main issue in buying a house in suburbs is that it is far away from the basic needs of life. There might not be any water, gas or electricity connection and the super markets may be far away. For Jhon to buy a cost effective house, he needs to find a house with in built facilities so he does not have to spend extra on getting them installed separately. He should bring only the stuff that he requires and buy a minimalist house that would require less maintenance in the future as well.
I hope the answer is helpful. Thanks
