Join the following sentence(s) to make one complete sentence without using and, but or so:

a) I was wrong. My teacher said this.
b) The thief escaped. It was dark.
c) I looked for my keys. They were nowhere to be found.
d) He can go there. He has to tell his warden about it.

In sentence a, that can be used as the joining word to conjoin the two sentences. The above two sentences are simple sentences that have been turned into compound using that. In the second sentence b, because has been used to join the sentence.  

The reason for which the thief could escape is darkness therefore because is the right option. The third sentence has been joined by however as it presents us with a negative situation. The fourth sentence has been changed into a complex sentence by using only if.
