                    Joint Family System Losing Importance

Joint family is a blessing for children. The grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins provide a very healthy environment for the all-round growth and development of children. They never leave the children alone and unprotected.

In a nuclear family, the children may feel neglected as at times the children don’t get enough time and attention from their parents. In case both the parents are working, the consequences can be very detrimental. Alone at home their impressionable minds are prone to negative and evil influences. Children may go astray.

In a joint family, in the presence of so many people, a growing child is perfectly safe. Besides, he gets ample opportunity to develop so many lingual and social skills while interacting with his grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins. He grows under their secure warmth, love and protection.

In the current times, joint family system is dwindling away; the effect of this system can be seen on the young children. They have all the freedom to do bad things and be distracted in useless things and activities. As a result children in the modern times are lonelier and more stressed.

The joint family system should be cherished and preserved for its various benefits.

2.economic reasons

3.educational and political factors

4.social factor that made it irrelevance in the present

conclusion :

joint family system is a misfit and has lost its relevance in the modern age. It is no longer possible to live in such a system, which is completely out of tune with the time, where there is emphasis on excellence and not consensus.

* Educational and growth opportunities have made people move away from a joint family system.

* Increasing population, in rural areas made it difficult for people to subsist on the marginal landholdings, compelling them to migrate to cities and towns in search of employment.
