Step-by-step explanation:

Given Jonny has two cycles and one rickshaw. The rick-shaw is worth ₹96. If he sells the rickshaw along with the first cycle, he has an amount double  that  of the value of the second cycle. But if he decides  to sell the rickshaw along with the second cycle, the  amount received would be less than the value of first  cycle by ₹ 306. What is the value of first cycle?

  • Let the cost of first and second cycle be m and n respectively.
  • According to the question in the first case we get
  • 96 + m = 2n
  • From the second case we get
  • 96 + n + 306 = m
  • Solving both the equations we get
  • So m – 2n + 96 = 0
  • Or – m + n + 402 = 0
  •   Or – y + 498 = 0
  •   Or y = 498
  • So 96 + m – 2 (498) = 0
  •    96 + m – 996 = 0
  •  Or m – 900 = 0
  •  Or m = 900
  • So the value of first cycle will be Rs 900

Answer:

900

Step-by-step explanation:

let the price of cycles be x and y resp.

Now according to ques.

96+x = 2y  ...(1)

96+y = x-306

or,96+306-x = -y

   ,402-x = -y  ...(2)

now multiply (1) with -1,we get

-96-x = -2y  ...(3)

SUBTRACT (3) from(2)

402-x = -y

-96-x = -2y

+    +    +

498=y and x = 2y-96 = 900
