Joseph had \frac{91}{12} meter of wire in the beginning.

Step-by-step explanation:

Consider the provided information.

Joseph used 35/6 meter of the wire and he was left with 7/4 meters of the wire.

Let x represents the wire he have in the beginning.

Thus, x must be equal to the sum of used wire and remaining wire.

x=\frac{35}{6}+\frac{7}{4}

The LCM of 6 and 4 is 12.

x=\frac{35\times2+7\times3}{12}

x=\frac{70+21}{12}

x=\frac{91}{12}

Hence, he had \frac{91}{12} meter of wire in the beginning.
