Joseph jogs from one end A to the other end B of a straight 300m road in 2 minutes 30 seconds and then turns around and jogs 100m back to the point C in another 1 minute. what are the Joseph 'S average speed and velocities in (a) from a to b and (b) from A to C?

a) Average speed = total distance/time taken
= 300m/150s = 2m/s

Average velocity = total displacement/ total time taken
= 300m/150s = 2 m/s

b) average speed = total distance / total time taken
= 300+100/ 150+60
= 400/ 210 = 1.9 m/s

Average velocity = total displacement / total time
= 300 - 100/ 150 + 60
= 200/ 210 = 0. 9m/s
