Question :- Joseph takes 5 minutes less time than Anik to make a product. Joseph makes 6 products more than Anik while working for 6hrs. Let us write by calculating, the number of products Anik makes during that time. ?

Solution :-

Let us assume that, the number of products made by Anik in 6 hours is x .

so,

→ Number of products made by Joseph in 6 hours = (x + 6)

now,

→ Time taken by Anik to made x products = 6 hours

so,

→ Time taken by Anik to made 1 product = (6/x) hours.

similarly,

→ Time taken by Joseph to made (x+6) products = 6 hours

so,

→ Time taken by Joseph to made 1 product = 6/(x+6) hours.

given that, Joseph takes 5 minutes less time than Anik to make a product.

A/q,

→ {6/(x + 6)} - (6/x) = (5/60)

→ 6{1/(x + 6) - (1/x)} = (1/12)

→ 6{( x + 6 ) - x} /x(x + 6) = (1/12)

→ 6{x + 6 - x} / (x² + 6x) = (1/12)

→ 36 / (x² + 6x) = (1/12)

→ x² + 6x = 432

→ x² + 6x - 432 = 0

→ x² + 24x - 18x - 432 = 0

→ x(x + 24) - 18(x + 24) = 0

→ (x + 24)(x - 18) = 0

→ x = (-24) or 18.

Since, the number of product can not be negative, the value of x should not be (-24) .

therefore, The required number of product made by Anik is 18 Products.
