3 golden rules

• debit the receiver , credit the giver

• debit what comes in , credit what goes out

• debit all the expenses and losses , credit all the incomes and gains

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

reason for debit and credit

Mr B A/c - personal A/c , where Mr B is the receiver of goods , therefore its debited

Sales A/c - Nominal A/c, its the income to the company , therefore its credited

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Journal entry

Mr B   A/c     Dr

          To sales A/c

(being sold goods to Mr B)

we will dr mr B and will credit the sale account

Mr B is debited because the business have to receive something from him/her
