Let me give you a few examples…The seasons are a great start. If you love a green, lush Spring and Summer then you need to go through the Fall and Winter cycle. The trees need to replenish their energy, rebuild their solar leaves so they can capture the sun, grow and flourish again. This rebuilding, healing and growing cycle is seen in most parts of nature. For plants, especially trees that loose their leaves, it is incredibly easy to witness. The bloom like a flower, absorb as much energy as they can, store this energy, shed the old/broken leaves, grow, heal, and repeat the cycle which is closely timed to the seasons of our planet. Animals follow a more daily cycle. They wake up, hunt, eat, rest/sleep to rebuild and grow only to repeat that cycle the next day. Everything has a cycle, even planets, solar systems, and universes.

Now to make this more interesting, learning is a cycle as well. We are here on Earth, in my opinion, to learn and grow as souls. Learning requires a cycle. To learn a skill you must practice and fail forward until the skill is mastered. For instance, hitting the bulls eye with a bow and arrow will take many failed attempts. You will miss the mark many times, get frustrated, fail, and be tempted to give up. Those who do not give up, those of us who have grit will prevail and hit their mark, eventually consistently. The skill will have been mastered. Challenges are always presented to us, giving us an opportunity to learn, fail, learn, grow and succeed. Some challenges are significantly more difficult than others.

In our society ego is the premium challenge we need to overcome. Ego pushes false values, belittles true growth and presents an incredibly difficult journey. The cycle of life begins with innocence in childhood until we begin to see ourselves as the center of the universe. This belief of entitlement leads to many challenges and much growth. Some of us will keep following egos lead and build a vast empire of material “stuff” that represents zero spiritual growth. Some of us will do the same and then cycle over to spiritual growth and help a tremendous amount of people. Some of us will give up and crawl through life complaining and some of us will transcend ego and become spiritual guides.

So, while we do not enjoy the bottom of the cycles, they are essential for us to be able to experience success, the top of the cycle. Embrace the suck as the military would say. When you are down, always remember that the law of the cycle states that at some point you will begin to rise again, learn and grow. Never give up! Each failure is just one more lesson towards success in everything in life. When we leave this life, what levels of experience will we have achieved? Will you focus your energy on hoarding stuff and building a human empire that will be forgotten the day you die, or will you build an arsenal of spiritual growth that will transcend with you beyond this life and into eternity? It is, entirely, your choice.
