after we swallow the food , it goes through esophagus connected form stomach to the mouth , the after reaching the stomach it takes a bath in HCL or hydrochloric acid required for the food meterial to be digested by enzimes that requires acidic pH. simple molecules like water and alcohol is absorbed by the stomach. the complex substances like sugar amino acids and fatty acids are absorbed by the walls of small interstine . all the absorbed molecules are circulated throughout the body. and the undigested food is excreted out through the large intestine.
