R1 = 1 ohm

R2 = 100 ohm

==> 1 / Équivalent R = 1/R1 + 1/R2

==> 1/R = 1 + 1/100

==> 1/R = 100 + 1 /100

==> 1/R = 101/100

==> R = 100/101

==> R = 0.99 ohm

Answer:

Judge the equivalent resistance when the following are connected in parallel 1. 1ohm and 10^6 2. 1 ohm , 10^3ohm, 10^6 ohm...

Resistance when connected in parallel

1/Rp  = 1/R1  + 1/R2

Case 1

R1 = 1 Ω

R2 = 10^6 Ω = 1000000 Ω

1/Rp = 1/1  + 1/1000000

=> 1/Rp = (1000000 + 1)/1000000

=> 1/Rp = 1000001/1000000

=> Rp = 1000000/1000001

=> Rp = 0.999999 Ω

=> Rp ≈ 1 Ω

Case 2 - Statement is not cler.
