I think that most people in the world are like Peggy who shows off as concerned and aware of social issues. But, cannot empathise with someone’s real problems. Their behaviour is totally different when actual dealing comes.
It is extremely important to be self-aware and thoughtfully deal with others. We must anticipate our words before speaking. Our actions should not leave a negative or sarcastic effect on someone. Although Peggy did not want to upset Wanda, her asking personal questions was not acceptable. Peggy could not self evaluate her behaviour. So, the teacher and the classmates should have intervened to let Peggy realise her mistakes and apologise to Wanda.
