The function of any judiciary is to be a watch dog of the rights of citizens.
The Independence of Judiciary means, the justice is not influenced, effected and tainted by the other organs of the democracy.
The legislation makes the law, the legislation can make any law it wants. It can even change the political attire of the country, but it's the judiciary that keeps the check on the legislature, and implement the law in the best way. And can declare such law null and void.
This can only be possible by the Independence of Judiciary.
