Let Judy have $x and Tim have $y.

According to the question,

x=  \frac{3}{5} y ----(A)
and, y-168 =  \frac{7}{9} x -----(B)

Putting the value of (A) in (B), we will get:-

y-168 = ( \frac{7}{9} )( \frac{3}{5} y)
⇒y-168 =  \frac{21y}{45}
⇒45y-7560 = 21y
⇒45y - 21y = 7560
⇒24y = 7560
⇒y = 315 --------------------(C)

Now, putting the value of (C) in (A), we will get: -

x=  \frac{3*315}{5}
⇒ x = 189

Therefore, Judy has $189 and Tim has $315.
