Answer:

Julius sold 3 1/2 sacks of rice. Each sack weighs 50 kg.

∴ Kilograms that Julius sold = 3 1/2 × 50

                                               = 350/2

                                               = 175 kg of rice

Concept:

For weight problems we are  required to calculate the total weight available or sold by knowing the capacity of each container or in this case  , sack.

Given:

Julius has sold 3 and 1/2 sacks of rice

each sack weighs 50 kilograms

Find:

We are required to find the weight of 3 and 1/2 sacks of rice, which is also the total weight of rice sold by Julius

Solution:

By considering the given data,

rice weight in 1 sack of rice=50kg

therefore, weight of 3 sacks of rice=  3 x 50 = 150kg

weight of 1/2 sack of rice= 1/2 x 50=25kg

therefore, total weight of rice sold= 3 1/2= 150+25 =175kg

Hence, Julius sold 175 kg of rice
