The ocean water smashes the shoreline frequently. Due to this the sand at shoreline is smooth and moist but it does not flow away with water. Whereas if we take an example of reaction of rock with sea water we observe that the rock changes it's shape and size. Hence we can say that the beach is unchanged.Hope this helps you.
