But the book says the correct answer is 10.232510.2325minutes. Also the book uses a different method which I do not understand.

The Options are not satisfied the answer.

If there are 65 minutes in an hour,

then A day will gain 100 minutes on the basis of 5 minutes per hour.

There are 1440 minutes in one day if there are 60 minutes in an hour.

If there are 65 minutes in an hour,Then a day will gain 100 minutes.
