Dust remains present in air as suspended particles. It can cause allergy and other respiratory diseases. It also affects plant growth by covering stomata on leaf surface and blocking them. It acts as the carrier of toxic compounds like heavy metals. Thus, dust acts as a pollutant.

Hope it helped

Dust is also considered as a pollutant of air. It is concentrated with the pollen grains which also are considered as dust. Dust is released by constructions, factories, industries, plants, mining activities etc. Dust mainly constitutes solid particles less than 500 micrometres in size. It is made up of unburnt carbon particles, skin cells, pollen grins, hair, fine grains of minerals, thin fibres, soil particles etc.
All these particles of dust make it a pollutant. Dust causes respiratory diseases, skin diseases etc.Hmm

Dust is a pollutant because (i) Dust consists of suspended particles. Inhalation of dust causes lots of discomfort including allergic asthma, bronchitis, cold or cough. (ii) It reduces intensity of light. (iii) Dust particles settle over leaf and can block stomata and reduce gaseous exchange in plants. (iv) It causes irritation of eyes. (v) Dust particles reduce the photosynthetic activity of plants. (vi) It contains smoke, fly ash, particle of silica, lead, asbestos, etc., which pollute environment.
