Yes, if the body maintains the same speed but changes its direction continuously then it is said to have variable acceleration.

Ex-in case of circular motion the body is at unform speed but its accelerating.^.^

Answer:

Answer:

In uniform circular motion the speed of the object remain constant but its acceleration changes at every point.

Explanation:

  • Uniform circular motion: If an object moves in a circular path with constant speed then the motion is called uniform circular motion.
  • In this type of motion speed is uniform but the direction of the object changes along the path.
  • Acceleration for uniform circular motion = \frac{v^2}{r} .

Where v is the velocity and r is the radius of circular path.

As acceleration depends on velocity and velocity is a vector

quantity. So acceleration depends on the direction.

  • As direction along the circular path is not constant in case of uniform circular motion, the acceleration will not be constant.
  • That's why in uniform circular motion acceleration is variable although speed is constant.
