The title of the story is unequivocally apt. The story is about Mrs Packletide's tiger hunt expedition. The tiger expedition becomes the cause of interesting events, incidents and happenings in the story. Mrs Packletide experiences extreme satisfaction and happiness after her successful tiger hunt and media coverage. The climax is also related to the tiger. Miss Mebbin blackmails Mrs Packletide. She demands 680 pounds in return for keeping the secret about the tiger hunt. She warns her if she did not pay her the money, she would reveal the secret to Loona Bimberton, her arch-rival. So Mrs Packletide has to pay the enormous amount of the hush money. The tiger is omnipresent in the story. So the title is apt.
