Take for an example a person starting his journey from a point A. He reaches his destination B. And he returns to the point A, So the displacement is 0.

The distance from A to B = 50m
The distance from B to A = 50m
Therefore, displacement =
Initial point - final point
So, 50 - 50 = 0

So from the above example we can conclude that displacement can be zero.
