India is located on the south-central of Asia.It has water on her three sides. In north it begins to taper and extent towards the India ocean dividing it into Bay Of Bengal in east and Arabia Sea in west.

No other country have a big coastline in India ocean as that India have.India ocean is the third largest ocean in the world. And because all the import export from India to other countries pass through this route because of this reason Indian ocean is named after India.

Hope it helps.....

aliaspvarghese: it is about south 22 latitude it begins to taper not north
