Answer : The poem “the cold within” clearly justifies the coldness within the people of the hearts. Each person of the group refused to share their log of wood because of their discriminatory attitude which prevented themselves to save the life of others. The negative thinking in human mind clearly reflects prejudice in human society. It was not the coldness of the atmosphere but the lack of humanity and warmth in their hearts which lead to the death of the forlorn group.
