Point to remember:

Displacement is the shortest distance possible between two points. In other words, it is a straight line between two points.

Distance is the total traveled length, it can be straight line or curved, or any possible type of line,

a)Displacement is the shortest distance possible between two points so yes displacement is fixed, try drawing a straight line between two points, you can only draw one straight line. (try it yourselves)

b) yes, displacement may be equal to dist

if you move from one point to other in a straight line, your both displacement and distance is same.

Displacement may be smaller than dist but not bigger

if you move from one point to other, not in a straight line but in any way you like, it is the distance traveled by you, but your displacement is still a straight line, which is smaller than your dist

sorry for my bad english

hope you'd understand
