motion is a relative term because it depends on the observer's frame. It is not absolute because a body in motion according to an object can be called at rest with the view of another object.
Eg. - when a train station standing on the platform starts moving, the people in train are in motion with respect to the person standing on the platform, but the people sitting next to each other are at rest with respect to each other because his post is not changing according to the man sitting next to him. Here, the motion of the people depends on the frame of reference chosen. Hence motion is not absolute but relative to the surrounding chosen.
