when we mix iron and sulphur together it forms a mixture and can be seperated by magnet i.e. a physical method but when we heat up the mixture of iron and sulphur it will form iron sulphide which can not seperarted by any physical method.
also, in mixture the elements or compounds are present in different propotion by mass and shows the same properties as costituents where as in compound the elements are present in fixed propotion by mass and they do not show the same properties as it constituents.
