Maize is one seeded fruit i.e. it has one seed.It is because during fertilisation onl one ovule is fertilosed which later develops in to seed.

It has two cotyledons so it is alled dicotyledon.

Explanation:

Each grain of maize is developed from a separate ripened ovary of the inflorescence.

And in the case of seed the grain have a pericarp which is fused with that of the seed coat.

And maize being a monocot has one cotyledon and a single seed.
