First of all, construct to lines AB and CD intersecting as point O. [ X }

when to lines AB and CD intersects at O they form 4 angles.
 so name that angles ; AOC as Angle1
                                      COB as Angle 2
                                     COD as Angle 3

∴ Ang.1 + Ang.2 = 180              [∵Linear pairs on line AB }           (i)

∴ Ang.2 + Ang.3 = 180            { ∵Linear pairs on line CD ]            (ii)

∴ From i and ii

Ang.1 + Ang.2 = Ang.2 + Ang,3 = 180
                          ( Ang.2s will get cancelled )
 Ang.1 = Ang.3

same thing ill b applied to prove another vertically opposite angles...

Hence Proved
