The narrator at the very beginning of the story says that he did not choose any mouth filling words for the title as he did not want it to be fancy. Moreover, the story is not centred on any ordinary marriage; rather it was the marriage of their own Ranga, the son of their village Hosahalli. The narrator is very passionate about his village. The story speaks of Ranga and how he gets into a relationship with a girl from his village. The relationship leads to marriage. So, the whole plot can aptly be summarised under the title of Ranga’s Marriage.
