The title " On Killing A Tree" is quite appropriate to the poem because the complete poem circles around the idea of killing a tree. The poet tells us that a tree cannot be killed by a simple jab of knife because it has grown out of the anchoring earth by consuming resources like sunlight, air ,water and nutrients from the soil. He also reflects the idea of the process of killing a tree. But at least he says that trees are cut mercilessly . He expresses his feelings by the words like bleeding, jabbing and uprooting. Hence we can say that the title suits very well to the poem.......
