Jute fibers have rough or dash surfaces. India is the major producer of Jute, and Gangetic West Bengal belt has many jute mills.

Bangladesh is second to India in production.

The fibers are obtained from Jute plant that is cultivated and after processing is used in gunny bags and as hessian cloth.

Jute fibres has highly rough kind of surface.

In India major jute producing states are West Bengal, Assam, and little Bihar.

Major producer is Bangladesh, and as the climatic condition of WB and Bangladesh same, they are major producers.
