k²-6k+21=12
k²-6k+21-12=0
k²-6k+9=0
k²-3k-3k+9=0
For splitting the equation we multiply the coefficients of the first and last digits and factorize them in such a way that by adding or subtracting the factors we get the middle digit's coefficient..... this method is also called middle term splitting.....u can also search it on Google if u didn't got mine...
k(k-3)-3(k-3)=0
(k-3)(k-3)=0
k-3=0 k-3=0
k=3
Hence.... the value of k is 3...
Hope this helps !!!!!!
