Given,

(k +4b) (5a -4b) = 25a^2 -  16b^2

To Find,

Value of k =?

Solution,

(k +4b) (5a -4b) = 25a^2 -  16b^2

Taking the right-hand side first, we get

R.H.S = 25a^2 -  16b^2

We can also write is as

R.H.S = (5a)^2 -  (4b)^2 [25 and 16 are squares of 5 and 4]

R.H.S = (5a)^2 -  (4b)^2

Using the formula, a^2 - b^2 = (a - b) (a + b) we can write it as,

R.H.S. = (5a + 4b)(5a - 4b)

Now putting L.H.S. =  R.H.S.

(k +4b) (5a -4b) =(5a+4b)(5a - 4b)

(5a -4b) is common so cancel out them

(k + 4b) = (5a + 4b)

k + 4b -4b = 5a

k = 5a

Hence, the value of k is 5a
