Answer:

700/13 km/hr

Explanation:

he traveled with speed of 40km/h for 40sec

40 sec = 40/3600 hrs

Since, distance= speedxtime, Distance traveled in these 40 sec

= 40km/hrs x 40/3600hrs

= 4/9 km

60 km/h for 1min and 30 sec or 90 seconds.

90 sec= 90/3600 hrs

Distance travelled in these 90 seconds=

60km/hrs x 90/3600hrs

= 6/4 km

Total distance travelled by mahesh= 4/9 + 6/4

= 70/36 km

Total time taken by mahesh= 90sec+40sec= 130 sec or 130/3600 hrs

Average speed = Total distance/Total time taken

= 70/36 ÷ 130/3600

= 70x3600/ 36x130

= 700/13 km/h
