Measure mass(m) of water in the calorimeter. Set the apparatus.Record the initial temperature of the water (q1). Pass steam through the tube and record the final temperature of the water (q2) after a time(t). Measure the length(L) of tubing beneath the water surface, and measure also the internal and external diameters of the tubing and hence find the internal and external radii (r and R).
