if k is a factor then,

( k+1) = 0

k = -1putting value of k in the equation, k³+6k²+9k+4

-1³+6(-1)²+9×-1+4

-1+6-9+4

-10+10 = 0

Hence it is clear that, x-1 is a factor of k³+6k²+9k+4....
