Invertebrate is said to be those animals which do not have a spinal cord nor does the spinal cord develop at any stage. By definition, all animals other than vertebrate animals come into it. Some of the prime examples of invertebrates are insect, crab, zinga, snail, octopus, starfish etc.
Vertebrate or Ksherukdndi (Wartebret, Vertebrate) Cordeta the Pranisamrajy (Chordata) is the largest Upasmuday community. Whose members have backbones or spinal comumns. About 58,000 species are currently described in this community. This includes jawless fishes, sharks, rays, amphibians, reptiles, mammals and birds. About 5% of known animals are vertebrates and the rest are invertebrates.
