Required Answer:-

The area of the above figure is the sum total area of triangle AED and trapezoid EDCB.

Provided:-

Height of triangle = 8 cm

Base length of triangle = 6 cm

Parallel sides of trapezoid = 6 cm, 12 cm.

Height of trapezium = 13 cm - 8 cm = 5 cm

Area of the figures:

Area of triangle = 1/2 × b × h

Area of trapezoid = 1/2 × (sum of parallel sides) × height of the trapezoid.

Finding area:

⇒ Area = 1/2× 8 × 6 cm² + 1/2 (6+12) × 5 cm²

⇒ Area = 24 cm² + 1/2 × 18 × 5 cm²

⇒ Area = 24 cm² + 45 cm²

⇒ Area = 69 cm²

\therefore The required area of the above figure constituting of a triangle and trapezoid is 69 cm² (Ans).
