Distance walked in the east direction = 10 feet

Distance walked to the right of east = 3 feet

Distance walked to the right of previous position = 14 feet

To find:

The displacement between the final and initial position

Solution:

The right of the east is south and the right of the south is west.

Kajal's route is shown in the diagram attached below.

Displacement AB and be found out using the Pythagoras theorem in ΔABC right angled at C.

BC = 3 feet and AC = 14 - 10 feet = 4 feet

Since AB² = AC² + BC²

⇒ AB² = 16 + 9

⇒AB = √25 = 5 feet

Hence, the Kajal's net displacement is 5 feet.
