Ashoka noticed a great changes after the famous historical war Kalinga War. It crushed his mind and soul. He saw the numerous dead bodies of his soldiers as well as the soldiers of opposite party. He had to spend a large sum of money for the war but he could not satisfied with the war, so his mind transformed and decided to change his way to life and introduce Dhamma.

Kalinga war was a turning point in life of Ashoka because the destruction and suffering that he seen in the war touched him deeply and after the kalinga war he vowed not to fight any more wars and maintain peace in the world.
