SOLUTION

GIVEN

Kalpana saves some amount every month. In first three months she saves ₹ 100 , ₹ 150 and ₹ 200 respectively

TO DETERMINE

The number of months she will save ₹ 1200

EVALUATION

Here it is given that Kalpana saves some amount every month.

In first three months she saves ₹ 100 , ₹ 150 and ₹ 200 respectively

So savings in first three months

100 , 150 , 200

First term = a = 100

Second Term = 150

Third term = 200

∴ Second Term - First term = Third term - Second Term

So the numbers are in Arithmetic Progression

Common Difference = d = 150 - 100 = 50

Let after n months she will save ₹ 1200

So by the given condition

 \sf{a  +  (n - 1)d = 1200}

 \sf{ \implies \: 100 +  50(n - 1) = 1200}

 \sf{ \implies \:  50(n - 1) = 1100}

 \sf{ \implies \: (n - 1) =22}

 \sf{ \implies \: n  = 23}

Hence after 23 months she will save ₹ 1200
