Answer :

40 years

Solution :

Let the son's present age be x years .

Now ,

According to the question , Kamla is four times as old as her son .

Thus ,

Kamal's present age is 4x .

Also ,

Son's age 5 years ago = (x - 5) .

Kamla's age 5 years ago = (4x - 5)

Again ,

According to the question , five years ago Kamla's son was 1/7 of her age .

Thus ,

=> x - 5 = (1/7)•(4x - 5)

=> 7(x - 5) = 4x - 5

=> 7x - 35 = 4x - 5

=> 7x - 4x = 35 - 5

=> 3x = 30

=> x = 30/3

=> x = 10

Thus ,

Kamla's present age = 4x = 4•10 = 40 yrs

Answer:

Given:

Kamla is four times as old as her son five years ago her son was 1/7 of age what is the kamla's age now

ANSWER :

According to the question Kamla age of 4 times of his son

Let the ages be x

son \: age \:  = x

kamla  \: age = 4x

After five years

Then,

x - 5 =  \frac{1}{5}  \times  4x - 5

7(x - 5) = 4(x - 5)

7(x - 35) = 4(x - 5)

7x - 4x = 35 - 5

3x = 30

x =  \frac{30}{3}

x = 10

Thus, Kamla age 4 × 10 = 40 years
