Rate of sale tax.

 \red{\large\underline{\sf{Solution-}}}

Given that,

  • Kanta purchased a refrigerator for ₹8208 including sales tax .

  • The list price of the refrigerator is ₹7600

Let assume that

  • Rate of sale tax is x %.

Now,

List price of refrigerator = ₹ 7600

Selling price of refrigerator including tax = ₹ 8208

So,

Amount of Sale Tax paid = Selling Price - List Price

Amount of Sale Tax paid = 8208 - 7600 = ₹ 608

Now,

\rm :\longmapsto\:x\% \: of \: 7600 = 608

\rm :\longmapsto\:\dfrac{x}{100}  \times 7600 = 608

\rm :\longmapsto\:76x = 608

\rm :\longmapsto\:x = \dfrac{608}{76}

\bf\implies \:x \:  =  \: 8 \: \%

Hence, Rate of Sale Tax = 8 %
