Thus the cost of tea is 300 rs per kg and cost of sugar is 40 Rs per kg.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x be cost of tea and y be cost of sugar

She paid 50 Rs as return fare

700-50 = 650 Rs

Therefore,

1.5 x + 5 y = 650

2 X (1.5 x+5 y=650)...as to remove the decimal

3 x+10 y=1300...1

According to second condition:

2x+7y=880...2

Multiply equation 1 by 2 and 2 by 3

6x+20y=2600......3

6x+21y=2640......4

Subtracting equation 4 and 3

6x+21y = 2640

6x+20y = 2600

Now

y = 40

Substituting y=40 in equation 1

3x + 10y = 1300

3x + 10(40) = 1300

3x + 400 = 1300

3x = 1300-400

3x = 900

x = 900/3

x = 300

Cost of tea per kg = 300 Rs

Cost of sugar per kg = 40 Rs

Thus the cost of tea is 300 rs per kg and cost of sugar is 40 Rs per kg.
