Kanyakumari lies very near to the equator but Kashmir lies at about 37°6'N, very far from equator.

As we know durations of day and night are almost equal near the equator so difference is not felt.

But as we move away from equator difference is felt.

In summers, days are long with nights short and in winters, days are short with nights long.
