take the difference of two amounts = 2700

also the difference between years = 3

you will get interest for 3 years = 2700

interest for one year =  2700/3 = 900

so put this in formula you will get P = 15000

i.e 17700 - 2700

use the formula PNR/100 and by substituting the values above you will get the answer 900/150 = 6%
