Kapil travels 30m from a point a towards north and from the south point sachin travels 40m towards east . How far are the two friends from each other now?

Follow the instructions and see the attachment.
The directions of East, West, North and South are mentioned in the picture.
First Kapil travels 30 m from a point " a " towards North.
Now Sachin at the same point "a" is in the Southern direction from Kapil.
So from this point "a" , Sachin travels 40 m East.
Now the distance between them can be determined by using Pythagoras Law as follows
H^2 = B^2 + P^2 (where D shows the distance between them)
D^2 = (30)^2 + (40)^2
D^2 = 900 + 1600
= 2500
Taking square root on both sides, we get
D = 50 m
So distance between them is 50m
Kapil travels 30 m from a point " a " towards North.
height=h=30m
and Sachin at the same point "a" is in the Southern direction from Kapil.
So from this point "a" , Sachin travels 40 m East.
base=b=40
Now the distance between them can be determined by using Pythagoras Law as follows
(Hypotenus)^2 = (Base)^2 + (height)^2
base=b=40
height=h=30
d shows the distance between kapil and sachin
d^2 = (40)^2 + (30)^2
d^2 = 1600 + 900
d^2 = 2500
Taking square root of both sides, we get
distance=d = 50 m
hence distance between kapil and sachin is 50m
