(a) Principles of Management are general guidelines that help in decision-making. There are mainly seven principles of management:

  • Universal Applicability - the principles of management are applicable to all dimensions, ranging from businesses to small firms to even your own homes. Management is required in almost all mundane activities.
  • General Guidelines - the principles of guidelines help provide viewpoints and opinions while making a decision.
  • Formed by Practice and Experimentation - the principles of management have been derived by observations, practising and experimenting.
  • Flexibility - the principles of management aren't rigid and can be modified according to the dynamic environment of the organization/firm.
  • Mainly Behavioural - the principles of management have been derived according to the capabilities and reactions of employees/people working.
  • Cause and Effect Relationships - the principles of management tell us what would be the possible effect of applying them to a situation.
  • Contingent -  the principles of management are intended to be applied depending and according to the situation ongoing at the time.

(b) Suraj finds the principles of management different from the ones of pure Science because they aren't as rigid as the ones of Science. They're dependent on human behaviour and must thus be applied according to the situation.
