Find the fraction of his money given to his sister:

1 - 1/2 - 1/3 = 1/6

Find the amount of pocket money:

1/6 of his pocket money = Rs 5

6/6 of his pocket money = 5 x 6 = Rs 30

Find the amount he spent on lunch:

1/2 x 30 = Rs 15

Answer:

Karan started is shopping with ₹2,800

Step-by-step explanation:

Let's assume that Karan started his shopping with ₹x.

He bought a pair of shoes for ₹\frac{1}{2} x

After this purchase, he is left with ₹(x - \frac{x}{2}) = ₹\frac{1}{2} x

He spent half the remaining for a book.

Therefore, he purchased a book for ₹\frac{1}{2}. \frac{1}{2} x =\frac{x}{4}

After the purchase of a book, he is left with ₹(\frac{x}{2} - \frac{x}{4} ) = ₹\frac{x}{4}

He spent half the remaining to buy a study table.

Therefore, he purchased a study table for ₹\frac{1}{2}. \frac{x}{4} =\frac{x}{8}

After the purchase of a study table, he was left with ₹(\frac{x}{4} - \frac{x}{8} ) = ₹\frac{x}{8}

According to the problem:

\frac{x}{8} = 350

∴ x = 8 times 350 = 2,800

∴ Karan started is shopping with ₹2,800
