Answer- 3 parts

Explanation: The garden is divided into 12 parts karen will plant corn an 8/12 of the garden if both the numerator and denominator are divided by 4).

Therefore, the fewest number of part. she can divide her garden into is 3 .

she will plant corn on 2/3 of the garden and the other 1/3 of the garden will not be planted with corn.

The Garden should be divided into 3 equal parts.

Given:

Corns~to~be~planted = \cfrac{8}{12}

To Find:

Fewest Number of parts of the garden.

Solution:

The fraction given of the garden in the question represents that out of the 12 parts 8 will be cropped with corn.

So, by simplifying it we will get the least part of the division to be done.

                                              =\cfrac{8}{12} \\=\cfrac{4}{6} \\=\cfrac{2}{3}

As the given fraction can not be simplified further.

Hence the garden should be divided into three equal parts.
